Lovely things

Today has been one of those rubbish days that I despise. From the moment I woke up it didn't go well.

I'm not one for ranting, but since I still haven't been able to shake these thoughts and feelings I thought I would surround myself with lovely things as the bible tells us to do.

The first is Taylor Swift and this pretty pretty head band. First of all, I LOVE Taylors hair, it's so beautiful. I would love for my hair to look that good. I bet it would cost me thousands. Secondly, I also adore her gorgeous head band in this. Cute!!

Another lovely thing is my gorgeous husband who is so patiently waiting for me while I am brooding in our room so he can take me on a picnic.

Have you heard the new craft craze is matchboxes! Don't they make the littlest loveliest gifts? You fill them with tiny things (buttons, ribbons, anything) and give them to others! Rachels a pro at them, and you should definitely check out her etsy shop!

Ahh there we go, see? I'm feeling much better already! Now I should get ready for a special picnic date tonight!! <3

The Saving Truth

Good morning!!

Each week I thought that I would share a miniscule section out of the bible with you.

About 2 months ago, I received some really devastating news and I found that in that time all that I had to turn to was God for help. The only way that I could ground myself was in his Holy Word, and when everything was spinning out of control, God remains the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

So as I read my bible each day, I will pick my fav verse out for you and include it in Wednesdays post. Hopefully you will enjoy this section of Sophie Slim. Let me know what you think in the comments section anyway :)

Green, Red and Blue! High waisted skirt

I have finally finished my high waisted skirt that I have had the material for for almost a year.

For my 21st birthday my Nana gave me her old old sewing machine and some money to buy some fabric with, and I have finally finished my first project with it!

I love this fabric. The colours grabbed me. Traditionally, none of them are supposed to suit each other, but the boldness of this piece means that they go amazingly together.

Truth be told, I had a basic dress pattern, but really had no idea what I was doing. It took me all of two hours, and I only had to unpick one section and basically made it up as I went and tried it on a billion times throughout the process.

My husband chose the length on me, and pinned it in place.

I am super happy with the way it turned out and can't wait to make more items just like this one in the lead up to summer!!

Mondays List

Future Monday blog posts will consist of [hopefully] awesomeness-filled lists... About? Anything!

Todays list: At the weekend.

So many awesome action packed things happened this weekend, I wish I had my camera to document them all, I could have filled a whole album, and you wouldn't have known it was over one weekend either because I changed my outfit every few hours for each different event!

Girls Night
One of my besties got braces this weekend, she is so beautiful already, so we went around to her place, make yummy coctails (Pina Coladas, Cosmopolitans, Jaffa things, Fejoias = Delish!) watched Sex and the City and painted our nails. It was such a fab night!!

Project Change
First thing on Saturday morning about 10 members from our church went to a persons house who has a mental disability and we [mostly] cleaned up their yard! This person was unable to do the yard work themselves and was going to be evicted if it didn't get done soon. Team C3 to their aid, all the vines are gone, paths that have been buried under years of grass growth were reborn  and you could see the fence again. I love doing this sort of work for the community :)

Drexerelles
My Mum calls it Drexerelles, but it's really just Drexels. We had a yummy Eggs Bene lunch at the Riccarton outlet catching up with my Mum and step dad, Harold. They live on the West Coast so we only see them a few times a year. Good catch ups. Family are awesome.

Shopping
Graeme and I hardly ever go shopping, especially not together, and very rarely do we buy anything, but we found Graeme some cool new jeans that show off his nice bum (hehe) and a cool new hoodie. All bargins. Bring on more shopping!!

Rugby
All the tickets to the Canterbury vs. Wellington game were FREE! Cool huh? We were right on the center line and enjoyed a really exciting game. Lots of ohhs and ahhs and jumping out of our seats with cheers. I love going to the games, I love the unity and togetherness that you experience while you are there.

Mutus
Graemes uncle Brian celebrated his 50th birthday on Saturday night and we went to the familys party local to join in the festivities. I love their parties. Lots and lots of relations, lots of kisses on the cheeks, lovely speeches full of respect, jokes and stories, maori speeches (that I can't understand but appreciate anyway) and maori songs (which I find so so awesome).

A Little Bit About Me

You may be new to my site, and want to know a little bit about who I am? Well, first off, I hate filling in the blanks on About Me forms, so I thought I would write you my own :)

I am a married 21 year old

This is my fun, quirky, energetic, inspiring and wise husband. Some might say we got married young, and we probably did now that I look at it in hindsight, but we were in love and stubborn, and still are! Graeme and I are working on our marriage everyday to make it better than ever, I am looking forward to many more exciting and fun adventures with him.

I serve

The greater part of my time is spent volunteering for C3 Church. I am working on my internship where I spend half the time organising events like this one coming up (more details on that later), and the other half doing admin / services and general dogsbody jobs. I really enjoy what I do, and consider it a huge honour to be able to serve my church and donate my gifts and time.

I knit

I knit a lot. Mainly what I call Love Booties. You can out more about them here. In general, I just love to do things with my hands. Knitting, sewing, cross stitching, painting, baking, gardening (minus the spiders). Any thing I can do to use my hands and create something I love to do. It is a dream of mine to be able to live off what my hands produce.

Those 3 things pretty much sum up my life, more on that later.

Welcome!

The old Wordpress has gone, and the new has come! To celebrate, I've made a super fun back ground and header and am feeling very inspired to make this one better than ever!! Unfortunately I am not able to transfer my old posts over, so we are starting fresh. Feel free to check out my wordpress page though if you are new to me :)

My Dad returned from a 4 week trip to Africa this week, so today I was sporting my brand new Africa tights! Yes, they have dancing African people on them. They are absolutely crazy, and I love them to pieces.

Also, I picked up these cool (and uber cheap shoes) today from Kmart. Did you know that Kmart had such a massive selection of cheap shoes!? I'm so glad I discovered it, there's so many different styles I want now!
